Dispute letter for an inaccurate charge-off
Use this when a charged-off account shows the wrong balance, status, or dates.
When to use this template
- The balance shown is higher than what you owe.
- The account was paid or settled but still shows an unpaid balance.
- Dates of first delinquency or last activity look wrong.
Sample letter
Replace everything in [brackets], and send one letter to each bureau that shows the error.
